LSE01 LoRaWAN Soil Moisture & EC Sensor

The LSE01 is a LoRaWAN Soil Moisture & EC Sensor for Agriculture applications. It detects Soil Moisture, Soil Temperature and Soil Conductivity, and uploads the the via wireless to LoRaWAN Network. .It is designed to measure the soil moisture of saline-alkali soil and loamy soil. The soil sensor uses the FDR method to calculate the soil moisture, with compensation for soil temperature and conductivity.

Please note that all LoRaWAN IoT Sensor nodes supplied by Telemetry2U will work with 3rd party network/application servers, like TTN, but if you would like to use your sensors on Telemetry2U’s advanced, plug-and-play IoT Platform, then you will need to purchase a license by selecting from the drop-down box below. Products purchased with a license will be shipped with the latest firmware and configuration optimised for T2U, with no programming or set-up required.

The LSE01 is based on the LSN50 platform, a long range LoRaWAN node that provides spread spectrum communication and high interference immunity whilst minimising power consumption. Its IP68 waterproof design makes it suitable for outdoor use and its powered by a 4000mA Li/SOCl2 non-rechargeable battery. Due to its low power operation, users can expect years of operation with a moderate logging rate. 

The LSE01 is ultimately an LSN50 with a soil moisture sensor pre-fitted.  The default settings will send a record every 20 minutes, with message confirmation turned off. The sensor is factory calibrated for Mineral soil types and has the following properties.

The operating parameters and many other settings on the LSN50 can be modified via AT commands on the serial port interface, but an FT232RL USB-TTL converter is required for this task (not supplied).  The communications port can also be used to upload new firmware via the built-in bootloader.  Some settings can be changed via the server, like the transmit interval, the reset command, confirmation status and what mode too run in.  To work work correctly with the Soil/EC/Temperature sensor, it needs to run in mode 2 (AT+INTMOD=2).
